OTHER ACTIVITIES
As well as the monthly meetings we also hold other activities:
CRAFT CLUB
The Craft Club gets together every other Friday. Usually we take our own projects which can be anything from knitting, crochet, rug making, quilting, embroidery, tapestry to lampshade making! Sometimes we have an ongoing project for charity; in the past we’ve made twiddle muffs, premature baby hats, baby jackets and hats. We also find it a wonderful way to discover new skills and pass on tips and hints to each other.
SCRABBLE CLUB
This is exactly what it says. The group meets fortnightly but usually not during the Summer.
BOOK CLUB
This group which meets every 3rd Monday. The library provides the books - a different one each month - and some very lively discussions take place!
OUTINGS
We also try to organise various outings throughout the year. In the past we have visited several gardens, Halifax Town Hall, the Quaker Tapestry in Kendal, the theatre and cinema.
WALKING GROUP - our newest group
Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. We aim to do a walk of 4-5 miles with possibly a shorter walk at the same time. We are also hoping to have a lunch together after each walk so that non walkers can come and join us although finding somewhere on a Tuesday is proving rather difficult!
