Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this month's walking group as there is no one available to lead it. But don't forget our next one on 11th July when we will be walking from Bingley to East Riddlesden Hall then joining the CULTURE CLUB for a guided tour. Hopefully there will be some kind souls who will drive us back to Harden afterwards!!

Yesterday 9 of us had a day out visiting this spectacular garden. The weather couldn't have been more perfect in the morning for us and after we had had a good look round Liz provided tea and coffee and some really tasty cake which apparently was the Queen Mother's favourite recipe and I can quite understand why! As we got into our cars to leave for our next important engagement - a pub lunch - a big black cloud appeared and the heavens opened....we got to the pub and it stopped raining just long enough for us to get inside and then we were treated to a dramatic thunderstorm while we had our lunch. Needless to say, by the time we came out it was a gloriously sunny day again! Next, we visited a garden centre just along the road and several purchases were made. We couldn't leave without trying the refreshments in the cafe and some of us couldn't resist sampling the cakes!! And, of course, while we were in there there was a dramatic hail storm! We had a wonderful day out and I think some of our members will be having rather a busy day today planting all their purchases! |
