headed over the border into Lancashire for a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool canal at Foulridge. We usually travel to our August outings by coach but as it wasn't too far this year, we used our own transport to get there. The sun was shining for us yet again and we boarded our narrowboat at 11 am for the 1 1/2 hour cruise. A delicious lunch of pie and peas was served at 11.15 which was a little earlier than our usual time but even though some of us had only just nicely finished our breakfast it didn't deter us from polishing off our plates! It was a very relaxing way to spend a couple of hours drifing along past swans, ducks, cows, sheep, horses, etc, and other canal transport but all too soon we were back at the warf. As there was still plenty of the afternoon left and we were not too far from Boundary Mill several of us ended the outing with a little retail therapy!
A big thanks must go to Shelagh for organising the outing for us - definitely not an easy task.!!
